Touchscreen problems

Hello,

I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 phone.

About three days ago, some water got into it. I dried it and let it be for about 30 minutes and then turned it on. After about two to three hours, it started showing a green screen and I turned it off and put it aside for three days.

I plugged it in today and turned it on, everything is fine but the touchscreen does not recognize my touch!

What should I do?

I had it fixed last year due to green screen and that happened about two weeks after the Android 9 update, and this time it happened about two weeks after the new security patch update.

Re: Touchscreen problems

Seems like your phone is water damage. At this point, Its probably better for you to get a new phone. Carriers have promotion all the time, you are probably eligible for an upgrade. I suggest backing up your files if you can. You can also use Samsung Dex to access your files. https://www.samsung.com/global/galaxy/apps/samsung-dex/ or sidesync https://www.samsung.com/us/sidesync/ Hope this Helps!

Re: Touchscreen problems

Hello @userZ3RhjsedMS ,

Unfortunately, It seems the device is water damaged now and the screen is being affected. If you have insurance this is something they most likely cover under their policy. If not, then replacing the device may be your best option. If you need help transferring your information over from your old device to your new device you can try visiting one of our authorized samsung repair locations when they open up again. Here's the link:

Best,

Jayhon

Re: Touchscreen problems

Hello userZ3RhjsedM,

I understand your frustration with your device. One way to check if the water damage  has reached the internals of the device such as the motherboard- would be to remove the sim tray and right in the sim tray entrance, should be a Liquid damage indicator. Usually the strip should be the color white or white with pink X's marked on it. If you see that strip, the color red- there is most likely liquid damage internally.

-As mentioned on this thread- you may need a new device.

Hope This Helps!
