Samsung -- you need to pay attention to this! Many, many people do NOT like Bixby. In fact, I, and everyone I have discussed this with, doesn't want a digital assistant at all . It's great for those who want one, but if we don't, you shouldn't be shoving it down our throats. The option to have NO digital assistant MUST be an easily-available option. The ultimate arrogance that you know better than your customers will end up driving those customers away. I have tried digital assistants, including Bixby, and they are just not for me. I find them intrusive, inconvenient and obstructive -- more often than not, they make it harder to do what I'm trying to do, rather than facilitating it. One reason to adopt Windows / Android products over Apple ones is that those products allow us to customize our experience rather than use what the manufacturer has decided to include. Play to the strengths of your device and your operating system : let us customize. Otherwise, you're going to lose me as a customer, and I know I'm not alone.
This is not a solution. Double clicking is not the same as disabling. Nor is it just as good. It is at best "the best you can do". Which is not much better than nothing.
we dont want to double tap it. We want it completely disabled. we paid for the phone we should have the capability to change/add/disable ANY feature on them we wish. Only a very small percentage of users actually like this garbage forced assistant. Know what i love, buying a product then being told what i can and cannot do with it
This is the worst. I waited years to save up and buy a new phone - the S9. I was so excited, as I had liked my previous phone from the series. A fair life this that cannot be disabled but is so easy to trigger accidentally? That's awful. It's not even a good virtual assistant. I may go back to apple.
This is not a solution. What Samsung needs to understand is that users are not necessarily asking for fixing the accidental touch issue.. user simply want to GET RID OF BIXBY.
I'm back with a S9+ and this is NOT a solution. The problem is the button location opposite the lock button. I cannot use the lock button without leveraging the bixby button (unless I bring my other hand in, which isn't always available.
Why not launch bixby with a long or other press of the standard buttons?
Please have another update to disable or get rid of
Bixby. I hate that whenever I touch my phone it comes on wanting me to update. So I did thinkingI could disable it, but no it is worse. I uninstalled update for Bixby and now it keeps wanting me to update and I can't stop it. Please let me have a choice to use it or not. I just paid off my phone so I really don't want to buy another brand, but I will if I have to.
Useless, I will add my voice to the chorus of dissent. If you force a Stupid, inconvenient feature like the Bixby, you lose customers. Next device Wii be Pixel. Future devices will not be Samsung. I'm sure Samsung does not care, but there's my feedback.
OOOOR! Ya'll could just let us turn off the stupid button entirely?????? Or better yet remap it to what we actually want a dedicated button for. I mean seriously have you seen Bixby's reviews? Are y'all not getting the message. 90% of people HATE it and want it gone. Face it Bixby has flopped and ditch it before it keeps hurting Samsung's rep.
