Email issue

Ever since the last Samsung email update I cant receive any new email. I uninstalled it in order to get my new email but my phone insists on occasionally installing on it's on overnight while I'm sleeping so I have to uninstall all over again. I have to now use my gmail app which I do not prefer. Can anyone help me?

Re: Email issue

Hey,

I would open the galaxy store app and select settings then turn off automatically update. At least you won't have to keep uninstalling it. I have no idea why the latest version is not receiving emails. Open system settings and clear the cache files in the email app. I'm not familiar with the app so I would wait for a community member or moderater for that.

Re: Email issue

Have you tried to clear the cache of your Email application and restarting your device?

Settings>Applications>Email App>Storage>Clear cache and restart your device.

I cleared cache and restarted and it didnt work. The only thing that works is clearing cache, clearing data then restarting. Then I have to reload my email all over again. I've had to do this 3 times already

Have you tried wiping the cache partition on your device? Are you using the stock e-mail app?

I just wish Samsung would let me uninstall my very last update because that is when all my issues started. I left a review and no one ever even contacted me

I use the Samsung email loaded on my phone if that's what you mean not the gmail app. What do you mean by cache partition? How do I do that?

Re: I use the Samsung email loaded on my phone if that's what...

Give these steps a try:

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the Android logo displays, release all three keys.
  4. An 'Installing system update' message will show for 30 - 60 seconds before the Android system recovery menu options appear.
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
  6. Press Power key to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
  8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
  9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

I had the same problem. I found this worked for me:

1. Go into your phone settings.

2. Go to Apps.

3. Find the e-mail app.

4. Click on Storage.

4. Clear the cache.

5. Clear the data.

6. Go back one screen and force stop the app.

You will have to reset up your email account but then it should start syncing again.

If this works, don't forget to like this post and mark it solved!
