Galaxy S9+ battery deterioration after Pie Update

Terrible battery drain after Pie update! Trying a factory reset now. Battery life went from 42 hours to 19. Help. My phone is Galaxy S9+, Model SM-G965U, service provided by Sprint.

My battery actually has improved by 1 - 2 hours. I usually have my phone set to dark mode and the adaptive battery feature in pie OS gives me more SOT

I already have the Adaptive Battery option chosen, as well as have nearly EVERY app go to sleep if not in use.  I also have chosen "Medium Power Saving" instead of "Optimized" Battery Setting, giving me an estimated 1 hour more.  Also, for the Display, I have nothing called "Dark Mode" - but think you must be referring to "Night Mode."  Do you use Night mode 24/7?

Did a factory reset - it helped slightly. I used to get 45 hours on one charge - now get barely 22 hours.

Even though I have most of the apps set to 'sleep' when not in use, I still see many running in the background.  For example, Chrome is set to "Put App to Sleep immediately when it's not in use" - but it ran in the background for 55 minutes, using 3% of battery.  How can I truly put apps to sleep/shutting them down when not in use??

What is using MOST of the battery is the Samsung Experience at 59%, followed by Android OS (using 9%), Android System {8%), Device Idle (6%), and Cell Standby (3%)

Update: Did a factory reset - which I hate doing.  It helped, but only slightly.  Battery life is barely 24 hours (down from 42-45) - if I don't use my phone much.  Very disappointed - wish I could somehow roll back this update.  SAMSUNG, are you listening??? Please address this.

Already have Adaptive Battery set...didn't even realize it.  Battery is almost dead right now - after 20 hours of only 2 hours of screeen time during that time.

Where the is this screen?  Galaxy S9+ with Android 9.  ATT service.  Searched for adaptive battery...got NOTHING!
