Galaxy s9 plus screen turns into yellow tinted display

I'm using my samsung galaxy s9 plus for 6 months of period. And it's all look very good before I recieved a software update end of the last month. The yellow tinted color problem appears when I press the power / lock screen button to lock the screen & immediately if I press the power/lock screen button to re-enter into the phone before ALWAYS ON DISPLAY appear, the screen turns to yellowish color. To return the phone display to the normal state, have to press the power/lock screen button & wait until the AOD comes.

That's the blue light filter. If you swipe down to the notifications screen, and then swipe down again you should be able to find th option to turn it off. It give a yellowish tinted to protect your eyes from the strain of your phone's screen. You can probably search it in settings and well by typing in Blue Light Filter.

I encountered similar issue too. Wuite tempted to reset my phone to factory default. Hzvd not try reset yet due to not sure whether it is thd recent Android update that causes it of other apps that causes it.

Kindly share if you find a solution.

Do you experience these symptoms if you test your device in safe mode?

No this doesn't  happen in safe mode. I just tried. It seems to have started after the October  patch update for me too

Re: Galaxy s9 plus screen turns into yellow tinted display

@userj1sXZ2Ildf Have you tried wiping the cache partition on the device recently?

Follow these steps:

- Turn off the device.
- Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
- When the Android logo displays, release all three keys.
- An ‘Installing system update’ message will show for 30 – 60 seconds before the Android system recovery menu options appear.
- Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
- Press Power key to select.
- Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
- When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
- Press the Power key to restart the device.

Your phone will take a little time booting up after the cache partition is wiped off of its contents as it will rebuild or recreate those caches. Don’t be alarmed if the phone gets stuck on the logo for a minute or two after this just don’t turn it off so that what was deleted will be replaced successfully. So, wait for your phone to become active. Don’t worry, this procedure is very easy and safe to do. You won’t damage your phone just by wiping the cache partition.
