LTE Long Term Evolution really is more of a path being followed in pursuit of true 4g speeds and connectivity.
4g is a a set of speed and connection standards. For cellular network use, connection speeds have to have a peak of at least 100 megabits per second, and mobile hot spots, at least 1 gigabit per second.
Basically if your carrier has true 4g technology you have the fastest speed and the most stable connection possible.
You've probably noticed that most of the carriers are upgrading their technology to transmit at the new 5g standards and some of the new Samsung phones have the new hardware that supports it.
I think you're carrier just decided not to use the LTE designation as a marketing tool.
