NFC Tag error message

My phone keeps popping up the messages "Couldn't read NFC tag. Try again." and "No supported app for this NFC". What is an NFC tag? Why did this suddenly come up on everything I try to do? Why do I need a NFC tag (or app) to use my calendar? Thanks!!!

Re: NFC Tag error message

I get this same message when reading text messages or when I'm in my contacts list.   This has become more than annoying.  I shut off some notifications because they were annoying and I was getting too many of them.  I can't be disturbed by notifications all day.  I too would appreciate this getting fixed!

Re: NFC Tag error message

I would like to look into this for you. Let's look at a couple of things first.

Have you made sure your phone is up to date on its software?

Does it perform the same way under safe mode?

Have you tried clearing the cache partition on your phone?

  1. Turn off the device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key.
  3. When the Android logo displays, release all three keys.
  4. An 'Installing system update' message will show for 30 - 60 seconds before the Android system recovery menu options appear.
  5. Press the Volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition.
  6. Press Power key to select.
  7. Press the Volume down key to highlight yes, them and press the Power key to select.
  8. When the wipe cache partition is complete, Reboot system now is highlighted.
  9. Press the Power key to restart the device.

Re: NFC Tag error message

I followed your steps and the problem persists.

I am getting the NFC tag error message almost constantly when not in plane mode. It is making my phone really hard to use.
