I accidentally deleted a conversation on my Galaxy S9. One of the suggested solutions didn't work, while when I click on solution for the other a red pop-up says the message can't be found. I appreciate any help you can provide.  Thank you.

If your device has been syncing with the Samsung cloud you can try this

Go into settings then scroll down to accounts then select accounts again then look for your Samsung account and click it then click on services then scroll down to Samsung cloud and select it and scroll down to restore and select what you want to restore should look like this

Hope this helps you

Thank you. Your solution did backup  the conversations, but the last backup date is 29March2019. (The messages which contained some photos I'm interested in arrived several days ago.

  • What determines the backup frequency?

Am I completely out of luck in restoring more recent messages?

Something else I should mention which may or may not have an impact.

  • My samsung account is chezphyl@mchsi.com
  • My Google backup account is phyindbq@gmail.com

(But that was situation a couple of months prior to 29 March.)

Unless you have a Google cloud and was backing up to it also,  You might have a app from your carrier like Verizon has the Verizon Cloud which backs everything up to it other than that I'm not sure
