Text message sound not working on Galaxy note 9

Why does my Galaxy Note 9 text message sounds & text message notifications not working anymore?

How long have you had device? It may need an update? Check for that in settings, then system updates. Then check for update.

@IG-BigPumpDad I bought my phone about a year ago and it was working fine until about 3 weeks ago. It's update and I went over all my settings and still can't figure out why I don't hear or see anything when I get a text message

1) Are you using the stock messaging app?

2) Check your messaging app notification settings: 

Tap and hold messages app shortcut on your home screen. Then when context menu appears, tap on App info. Then go to notifications and go through each option. Some options may have other sub menus inside.  Don't just tap toggle on/off, but tap the wording to go deeper into the settings

Do you have do not disturb turned on? Or data saver? Or under settings:notifications:at bottom recently sent:see all: make sure app notifications are turned on

Ummm.... I wish I could help everyone stated everything I would have done.... Try downloading another message app and see if works so you can eliminate what's the actual problem
