verizon says otherwise. same is true with one of the samsung chat agents i spoke with. the samsung guy said that it depends on the frequency that the service provide is using.
Well, I'm getting ready to order a factory unlocked S9, I asked the seller to provide me with one of the S9's IMEI number, I ran the number through Verizon's online checker and it says it's NOT compatible, what can I do about this???
I just had online chat with Samsung customer support and they said YES, it will work on any carrier (network).
Plus, I've been reading online and seems this is best option, 'cause it won't come with as much carrier-specific bloatware.
I appreciate the answers so far. I'm still hoping to hear a specific answer from Samsung.
Years ago when I looked for an unlocked phone I received the typical answer of if it's unlocked then it works on every network. I inquired with Verizon about the unlocked S9 and they stated that I would need to have the phones imei for them to answer. So I'd have to buy the phone before I knew whether or not I could use it.
