Alti-Barometer stopped displaying readings but Barometer alerts are working

The altimeter and barometer stopped working on my Galaxy Watch (46mm, Bluetooth version).  The app shows 0 meters altitude and no pressure. Factory reset did not help, neither did calibration inside of the app. Manual altitude calibration is not keeping the value entered.  I'm assuming the sensor is working  because the barometer alerts still pop but no data displayed in the app nor on any watch face that uses alti-barometer as a complication.

Any idea/suggestions what to try?

Have you tried re-installing the gear app and forgetting and re-pairing the two devices?

I did a factory reset on the watch and subsequently re-paired via bluetooth because it was a new device at that point... but I don't have a Gear App;  Do you mean The Galaxy Wearable app?

I came here for a solution to this.

Oh well, it seems like it will have to be sent in for repair (it is coming up to its two year mark too).
