I've just received my Galaxy Watch 4 classic, and was hoping it would import my old watch face from the backup. It did not.
I didn't like the default face, so I tried to change it to what I had before, but unfortunately the new 'Analogue Dashboard' option is horrible - I just want my old watch face, which was also called 'Analogue Dashboard' but looked much better IMO
I can't seem to figure a way of doing it. Is it because the OS has changed?

I agree, bring back our choices! My husband is returning his and keeping the watch 3 because of this, Im still debating, so far the cons of the new watch is: it has overheated a few times while charging, limited apps and watch faces (reminds me of my friends apple watch, they don't have much choices either) Sometimes I get my alerts and sometimes I don't. And what is up with having outlook? why not samsung mail or gmail. So going to give this a week or so and then decided if its worth keeping.
