I got the Tizen 5.5 update today here in the US, and along with it the long awaited ECG app (Samsung Health Monitor). Unfortunately, ECG won't work for me. Nothing happens when I put my finger on the back button. I have ensured that the back of the watch is clean, and that the band is nice and snug, but it still won't work. I looked around Reddit and found that a few other people having the same problem as me.

I did some more research and came across an XDA discussion stating that the ECG sensor on some Active2 watches may be damaged due to the long inactivity period.

I talked to Samsung Support on Twitter and they agreed that this is a hardware issue, and that a replacement of components (the back button and maybe the entire sensor) will be needed.

How does Samsung plan to address this? The hardware damage is clearly not our (the users') fault. Had they delivered on their Active2 ECG promise on time, we wouldn't be facing this issue.

Same problem, did the OS update, even checked for App updates. Sensor doesn't seem to detect anything.

Not sure if this is the same issue you're having, but I tried multiple times with my index/pointer finger, and it kept saying to keep still, and it would restart. Then I switched to my middle finger on the sensor, and it worked fine. I've had my active2 since it first came out, and haven't treated it gently by any means (I'm in construction, and wear it every day) but the hardware still worked fine once I figured out how to use it properly. My issue was, the finger I used... Anyway, I hope this helps someone.

I have the same issues, reloaded software, did everything the watch and app said.  Talked to Tech support this morning, and they opened up an RMA for the watch under warrenty.  So see what happens, I will post an update once I get it back.

Sending mine in under warranty repair. It's a bad watch plain and simple so start sending them in and get it replaced. mine was only 6 months old.

Did you just do it as well or if earlier how long did it take? Did they send repaired, refurb or new?
