Re: Samsung and the HUGE ECG FAIL!

JUMP TO SOLUTION

Don't forget forced into buying one of their phones to work, false advertising!

This is false advertising at it's best and honestly, Samsung would be smart to release Samsung Health Monitor for all Android and iOS phones, or combine it into Samsung Health and include the ECG feature otherwise I can foresee a class action lawsuit coming. You sold at least two watches now with the promise of ECG, and it's greedy to lock it down to sell more phones. Ridiculous.

You do realize this isn't false advertising? Maybe a bit misleading or lack of full information but not false advertising. The watch does work with other phones just some features are specific to samsung. Apple restricts their watches only to their own phones entirely. I understand the frustration though if you have a samsung watch and other android phone and wanted the use of ECG.

It's actually the definition of false advertising.

Advertising statements that are deceptive, misleading, or outright false, about a product or service being offered

Samsungs' advertising statements were not false or misleading. When each of their watches came out, all of their features that were on them were able to be used with any android phone as their advertising stated. After they had been out, these new features such as EKG were only able to be used with Samsung phones. The watches themselves and majority of their features outside of they newly added ones work with other Android phones. Additionally, this could have something to do with limitations of the FDA approval. Therefore, there was no false advertising. Please tell me where it was false or misleading.

ECG was mentioned as a feature, so they misled if they don't release it on all Android devices. Looking through all these pages, most people were misled.

It was listed as a feather before the sale. It did not say Samsung only. So yes it is false advertising.

Lesson learned regardless. No more Samsung products for me.

I spent an hour on two separate days only to reach the conclusion that the Samsung Health Monitor will not load onto my non Samsung LG K20 Android 7 phone and have this "Samsung ECG Troubleshooting Specialist" try to direct me to the Galaxy Store to look at purchasing an 'A' series Samsung phone!! So frustrating!! Pretty deceptive business practice, must report to the Federal Trade Commission.

I  am so upset with Samsung. I have several Samsung TVs, 2 tablets, my wife and son both have samsung phones. I chose a Razor 2 phone for  gaming. I purchased the origional Galaxy watch and was happy to upgrade to the watch 3 because my doctor thought the ECG, O2, and Blood Pressure would be very helpful for me. Now I find out I have to have a Samsung phone for this? If I had know I would have not spent the $429.00 ( the price has dropped in the 3 weeks I have owned the watch btw) to upgrade. This is a big slap in the face for me. I am a long time Samsung fan and customer. However after this disaster I am not sure if I would ever buy a Samsung product again. Come on  Samsung please release these features for non samsung phones. It is only fair.

Samsung Health monitor Pixel phone

JUMP TO SOLUTION

I have the Galaxy Active 2 watch synced with my Google Pixel phone. Everything works fine however with the new update I am unable to get access to the Samsung health monitor app on my Pixel for the EKG functions. I was able to gain access to this app through a Samsung phone but not the Pixel. Will there be a work around for this on other Android phones or strictly for use with Samsung only?
