Still no word on the update? I can't find any recent media mentioning it. Is Samsung waiting on FDA approval? If so, is the sensor exposed to the api? Are we able to build an application ourselves? When I use the heart sensor on the built-in app it seems to show a line that resembles an ECG. Is Samsung currently collecting and analyzing data?

Thanks for reaching out. Regretfully, we are unable to speculate on the release of any future updates.

Funny how Samsung gets beat by Apple every time...My wife has the Apple Watch Series 5 which has the ECG and it's up and running. At this point it's just my pride keeping me with Samsung. If I were employed by them, I'd be embarrassed. "Oh, uh, the FDA hasn't approved it yet." I call .

I called both Verizon and Samsung support yesterday to ask about fall detection.

Both said active 2 had it.

I asked both to point me to documentation....both gave me links to docs with no mention.

When I pointed it out to Samsung he said he read it would be out in Febuary, so it would surely be in watch if I ordered one (paraphrase).... and I should monitor news link.

It's a deal breaker for me.

Need more acuracy and truth on phone and chat support.

I hope, in the future, Samsung no more sale something that do nothing what they state. I mean they state Samsung watch has ECG, and sell IT. And now we wait years and noane care.

I agree. It is false advertising. What if they don't pass FDA? Bet buyers don't get a refund.

Regardless of FDA approval at this point, they marketed the watch with forthcoming ECG and fall detection as it's main selling point. No updates, not info, more than six months now and the only change is they've quietly removed all info about the features from all literature on the site and from all vendors selling the watch. I'm giving it all a pass right now cause we have bigger issues and more important things all of us need to focus on... But it's still a let down and when things settle there should be a meaningful response to what's going on.

Does anyone have links or pictures of their site before? They have removed it. I bought my grandmother a watch for fall detect and myself for ECG because of my heart condition. I am a student and Samsung is denying they ever advertised it!!!

To put everything simply.

The watch has every single feature as promised and advertised.

However, these features are not currently active given the pending government/FDA approval for both Korea and then other countries FDA or whichever countries equivalent.

I just pulled this down from Forbes magazine article of May 3rd Samsung is living in a fantasy world and keeps making announcements without delivering. One only has to consider that ECG and fall detection was supposed to be in the last watch, the Galaxy 3, kindly read below, this was quoted by Forbes as being a Samsung spokesperson:

Once your Galaxy Watch Active2 device has been calibrated with a traditional cuff, you can simply tap to “Measure” your blood pressure anytime, anywhere. The device measures blood pressure through pulse wave analysis, which is tracked with the Heart Rate Monitoring sensors. The program then analyzes the relationship between the calibration value and the blood pressure change to determine the blood pressure. To ensure accuracy, users are required to calibrate their device at least every four weeks.
