Maybe the should have thought about that prior to advertising the functionality as well as clearly stating it would be released in Q1 2020.  The post from the guy who states he is responsible for delivering this function seems to intermate, that it won't be released until it is stable.  Again this should have been checked prior to knowingly misleading customers to purchase the device.  With the Active 3 due out shortly,, its another example of Samsung putting profit before customers (no real change there)

Thanks for your inquiry. Once available, updates are released to Carriers and thereafter, it is at the Carriers discretion to release the update to customers. Since updates are released by Carriers in waves, we’re unable to determine when your device will receive an update. We appreciate your loyalty.

No, the watch has nothing to do with a carrier.  The last update came from Samsung.

It was a silly answer.

Very true I think they say anything to pass the blame. I do have the one from Verizon and when approved I'm sure it will take some time. The ones that have the bluetooth I would hope be very soon. It will come straight from Samsung. I also wonder this would to just turn on the ecg sensor so I don't see why Verizon want their gready hands in it. Hope to get it soon was the main reason I bought this watch. Its January now but I just seen a week ago or so that FDA just approved bunch of medical devices so it really may be soon

Hello @MrZell,

Thank you for your response:

My follow up question is:

I have an unlocked Samsung Active 2 LTE watch.  When will my update come out, as it shouldn't be from any carrier - but from Samsung directly.  (One would hope Samsung would know how long after FDA approval it will have the update available for unlocked watches.)

Thank you for you time.

It was the reason I got the watch. Would have been nice to know it wasn't available yet!

Why does it have anything to do with the carrier ??? It's a stand-alone Device ?

I am sick of hearing excuses. I need to know the truth with updates. I bought this watch because I was told by Sansung that it came with EKG. Then I found out I had to wait till early in 2020. Well we are more then half way through March. I bought this because of the EKG alone. I have severe heart problems and must travel 2 hours often to get an EKG. This is serious for me and could even be life or death. If they had told me the truth I would have bought a different Watch. Soon if it does not come out or they don't start getting updates to us I want a full refund because they advertised wrongfully. This is my health and my life in the balance. They do not get to just ignore me. Every time I call no one knows a thing. I buy a new note every year and use samsung products including 2 TVs but all that is about to change unless they tell me something.

I am in the same sinking cardiac boat!  Not only am I at risk for afib but also vfib after a heart attack.  I have a pacemaker but the cardiologist is threatening a defibrilator if my ejection fraction doesn't improve. In order for the increase in EF to happen I need to continue cardiac rehab which is why I needed to buy the d... watch prescribed by my cardologist.  I was told by Samsung that the watch was set to be used for ecg ,but just needed the update after getting the FDA approval as a medical device.  I bought the watch in January 2020 and now it's March 24th with no knowledge of when the update will occur, if at all...I intend to continue with reviews daily until I get the "update".  I expect a refund from the company since I'm now going to be forced to buy an Apple watch.  In the meantime if I die because of the delay (from waiting for the update which is what I perceive to be false advertising), my family will continue to give these reviews daily until the company releases the upate. Hopefully these reviews will help others who have been waiting for the update with no legitimate, timely response from the company.
