Email-texts don't pop up on Active2

Until recently, my emails and texts would pop up on my Active2 watch when they were received on my Note20 phone. They no longer do--I only get an indication on the watch that a notification has been received.

Being able to read or delete instantly on my watch was a big advantage that I sorely miss. I don't know of any setting changes that might have caused this, and I've adjusted every setting I can think of to fix it.

FWIW, I use a third-party email app on my phone (BlueMail), but I use the stock Samsung Messages app.

Can anyone help?

Check the settings in the wearable app under notifications (more or similar) that showing notifications including details is enabled.

I also use a non-standard email app on my phone and the email text is shown in the notification. (I use PIN lock so the watch also has to be unlocked to show content.)

Thanks. I already had the notifications including details option turned on. I had hoped it would solve it, but it didn't. 😞

Can you see the content in the notification on your phone?
Do you get the content of text messages to your watch?

I have a Google phone, and I haven't checked what happens if I disable but I remember a settings to show the notifications with details on the lock screen and it might have something to do with your problem.

Sorry for the delay in replying--I really appreciate any continued suggestions.

No, I don't see text message or most email pop-ups on my watch, though I used to. I've discovered one exception: one gmail account pops up messages on my phone, but none of my others do (an MS Outlook account, three with my own domain name, and another gmail account). I've checked all the notification settings in BlueMail for each account, and they're all exactly the same--everything possible is turned On. I don't even have the gmail app installed on the phone, and the only email account in MS Outlook on my phone is the Outlook one-so neither of those is the source of the correct gmail pop-ups.

One other anomaly: I am receiving pop-ups on the watch from Facebook Messenger.

To summarize: the texts and emails that used to pop up on my watch suddenly discontinued a month or two ago even though I had changed nothing, but one gmail address and FB Messenger still pop up messages. Every setting I can think of has been checked.

If there's no other suggestion that fixes it, I may try completely uninstalling the Galaxy Wearable app from the phone, reinstalling, and reconnecting the watch. And if that still doesn't work, perhaps resetting the watch, though I'd hate to lose my extensive customization.

Any help will be appreciated!

Following because mine isn't showing any of the details from notifications anymore. Just a vibrate and a dot.

That's exactly what mine is doing. I'm not alone! 🙂

Now how do we get Samsung to fix it?

I'm a bit unclear on your description of if the content is showing in the notification on your phone or not but if not, I would think it have to be shown in the phone notification in order to be replicated on the watch.

One thing I have found out after watch reset and restore of settings from the backup is that it takes a good while (many minutes) for the installed apps and widget tweaks to show up, so letting it finalize gets most of my personalization back in order.

My texts are and emails can be seen as notification drop-downs on my phone, including the content of the messages themselves. When one comes in, the watch buzzes, but the notifications do not appear there. They used to and just suddenly quit working.

I haven't reset my watch for a very long time and they've worked since then, so that isn't the problem.

For anyone else who sees this thread, I finally gave up and uninstalled the Galaxy Wearable app and Active2 plug-in on my phone. I intended to simply reinstall, but that forced a reset of the watch. OK, at least I'd be starting fresh.

After reinstalling and repairing, I had the same situation--only an orange dot when a notification came in, instead of showing the text or email on the watch. BUT during the reinstall, I noticed that it said to swipe left to see notifications. Voila! When there's an orange dot, swiping left shows the text or email (assuming that other settings are correct, as discussed in this thread). The only thing I don't seem to be able to do is to delete the email right from the watch. At least I can mark it read and dismiss the notification.

Unless my memory is bonkers, this was a change during some update. I remember having text and emails notifications simply pop up, without having to swipe left. If that's so, it would have been nice for someone to simply point that out on this forum.

So, if you're having the same problem I did, try swiping left when you have a dot indicating a notification. Hope this helps!
