I recently switched from my Garmin Fenix to the Samsung Watch Ultra, and I find myself missing the LED flashlight almost every day. It’s one of those features I didn’t realize I needed until I had it.

I often used the red light in the bedroom so I wouldn’t wake my wife, and the white light whenever I needed proper brightness. On the Fenix, a simple double press of a button instantly activates the light — far more convenient than reaching for a phone, and incomparable to the Watch Ultra’s maximum display brightness.

In my opinion, the flashlight could even be improved compared to the Fenix by placing it on the right side. That way, you could naturally point your hand at whatever you want to light up — just like with a real flashlight.

That said, I don’t really mind where it’s placed. The important thing is simply having a proper LED flashlight at all. Please, please consider adding this feature in the next generation of watches.

Your watch should have a "flashlight" feature.  Pull down the control panel and look for the flashlight icon. It's not the greatest flashlight in the world (it only lights up the watch screen, bright white), but it will do in a pinch.

The Samsung Watch Ultra Quick button (Orange) can be mapped to flashlight with a short press.

Go to watch settings in the wear app, buttons and gestures, Quick button.

He knows that already. The Garmins offer an actual LED flashlight built into the top of the case and it is much brighter and far more useful than the screen version. If Samsung could do that it would be a game changer and I promise Apple would copy it.
