Iโm a dedicated golfer and loyal Galaxy user with a Galaxy Watch Ultra, Galaxy Ring, and phone. I also own a Garmin Approach S70, which I love for its excellent golf featuresโespecially Plays Like distances that automatically adjust for slope/elevation, wind, and weather/humidity conditions, plus detailed course maps, hazards, shot tracking, and scoring directly on the wrist.
The problem is I want all my health and activity data (steps, heart rate, calories, sleep, recovery) consolidated in Samsung Health. However, integrating data from the Garmin S70 during golf rounds is frustratingโsteps from the S70 often donโt flow properly into Samsung Health (even via Health Connect), and my Galaxy Ring only captures about 60% of actual steps during golf because of limited arm swing.
On the golf side, third-party apps like Golf Buddy / Smart Caddie or others (Hole19, Golf Pad, 15th Club) work on the Ultra but come with limitations:
Many advanced features (true Plays Like with slope + wind/weather, full watch maps, advanced handicap tracking, shot tracker, distance arcs) are locked behind paid subscriptions.
None integrate as seamlessly with Samsung Health as a native app would.
Iโd much rather have a first-party Samsung Golf GPS app that feels like a true Samsung experience.
My request:
Please consider building a native Samsung Golf GPS / Rangefinder app optimized for the Galaxy Watch Ultra (and future Galaxy Watches). Key features that would make it a game-changer:
Accurate GPS distances to front/middle/back, hazards, and layups with high-quality aerial/satellite maps on the large Ultra screen.
Plays Like distances that factor in slope/elevation, wind speed/direction, temperature, humidity, and air density (matching or beating the Garmin S70).
Deep integration with Samsung Health โ automatic syncing of steps, HR, calories, distance walked, and elevation during rounds.
Built-in scoring, shot tracking, handicap estimator/tracking, and club recommendations.
Phone-free operation on the watch with excellent battery optimization.
Free core features (or a very reasonable one-time purchase) instead of ongoing subscriptions.
This would solve the ecosystem fragmentation for golfers who want premium smartwatch health tracking and serious on-course tools without juggling multiple apps or brands. Golf is a passionate community, and a strong native app could really differentiate the Galaxy Watch Ultra from competitors.
