Galaxy WatchIts already been posted here about the AOD being broken with the workout screen after the latest watch update. But it also appears to have affected the GPS accuracy as well. It might not be noticiable for some unless your doing long distance workouts, but my regular runs were typically around 7.1 - 7.15km with great consistancy. And when you looked at the map, the gps tracking lines were always clean and straight, which with the watch 7 is attribured to its dual gps design. But now immediately after the update which had already broken the AOD workout screen for live data, i am getting poor gps tracking lines and the last two runs coming out to over 7.3km for the exact same route. Which it had never done in the past. It feels like they have potentially adjusted the gps settings to try save some battery and sacrificed the gps accuracy as a result.
It is a MASSIVE understatement on how frustrated i am about this new update and has caused me much distress because of how i hate when things mess with my exercuse routine so destructively.

Galaxy WatchI have had a few more exercises and the GPS accuracy is still soo bad, its like as bad as much galaxy watch 4 with its prehistoric gps sensor. I want to vomit everytime i look at the tracking map data. Before the tracking would be so accurate that it followed the sidewalk path almost perfectly. But now, it will have me on the other side of the road, inside a building or zig zagging back and forth when i am going completely straight.
Massive **** up samsung
Updates are suppose to improve things not ruin them. And when the update details say, "stability and security imorvements" you would not think sooo many things would be messed around with to break many things to be attatched with such a minor changelog reference as that. Clearly there was much more going on under the hood as that minor changelog reference was suggesting.

Galaxy WatchI have run the same route and distance since owning the galaxy watch 7 and the distance is 95% of the time, the same. 7.15k. The accuracy of the gps map tracking lines are straight and on point with high precision. But after the update it has been consistantly off, with it now showing 7.25-7.3km. So 100-150m more. I have tested the watch with the new update on a 1600m track and it drifts about 20m more than the real world distance. Meaning after every 5km, the measured distance is off in excess by 100m.
<span;>This is extremely unacceptable and throws off the accuracy of pace control and reference to older data where the pace can be off by as much as 20 seconds per km, which is HUGE!.

Galaxy WatchSame here. 4km error on a 63km bike ride comparing to my xoss device. And the route no longer matches the roads.

Galaxy WatchIt's happened to me too!
I cycle long distances, and I noticed that after the update the records are showing much more than a certain route has, it's possible to see the crooked lines as mentioned in the post.

Galaxy WatchYes, it appears they may have tried to improve battery optimization by reducing the accuracy of the GPS tracking. The decreased tracking that you can notice in the map with the jagged lines is the cause of the inflated distance numbers. As the natural result of something not following a straight path will incur added distance to the calculation.
If people can submit feedbacks in the samsung members app then it may be possible to get resolved but it could very easily be a software decision that they may not decide to go back on. I will be seriously considering buying or sumbitting for warranty to try get the older software version if this cannot get resolved. Exercise tracking is the primary purpose of my galaxy watch and it needs to be reliable, consistant like the day i first purchased it. Having something as significant as this changed into its life cycle is unnacceptable to me.
