Galaxy WatchProblem: I need to change the bezel on the media playback app from volume control to music track control.
Background: So I've had every rendition of the Galaxy watch and what is probably my favorite feature is the ability to control my music without having to reach for my phone, or even have my phone with me. This is handy when I'm swimming but where it shines is driving. In my company vehicle I don't have a Bluetooth connection with the sound system so I wear an earbud (Galaxy buds pro, specifically). I like to listen to music when I drive so I'm sure you can see where this is going.
Issue: The first time I tried to skip to the next track with my watch I nearly blew out my right ear. I was on the freeway, but lucky me I was in traffic. I can only imagine what my reaction would have been at 65. I tried to go back but I just turned down the volume. I realized I had to swipe to get back to the control screen, and I had to press next to skip tracks. So now in stead of simply rotating the bezel to change tracks, I have to actually look at my watch and press a button, not easy when you have sausage fingers and not safe when driving. At this point I might as well just have my phone constantly on and split between music and maps when driving.
Rant: I have a lot of little issues with the Galaxy Watch 4. When I upgraded to the Watch 3, It really felt like a step up in software, hardware and functionality. But this upgrade... the buttons are flat and boring again, they swapped the button functions so I'm constantly going home when I just want to go back, the battery life feels shorter, and don't get me started on how intrusive navigation is. Feels like they changed some things for the sake of being different, and I can live with most of these, but not the change in the bezel function; my safety isn't worth the latest technology. If this isn't resolved soon, I think I'm just going to go back to my Watch 3 and not upgrade next generation.
