Seem to be having some problems with GPS on my Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. It worked fine for months for tracking my runs without my phone, I took a few months off running so I'm not sure if there was an update in between and then my last few runs just haven't picked up GPS at all....

I have "Improve accuracy" turned off as some posts suggest and also disable WiFi but it still can't find anything. When I open Samsung health to go running the GPS logo just flashes the whole run and then I come back to no map in the app and a completely wrong distance recorded. Strava, mapmyrun and general GPS apps also fail to get a GPS lock. I'm running the latest software for my country (UK).

I've tried a factory reset to no avail.... I've seen a few posts exactly the same as above but with no solutions so I guess it's worth starting the replacement process with Samsung?

Both watch and phone (S22+) are running their latest softwares. I don't think there's anything more I can do now so I've scheduled in a repair so will be without it for a few days whilst it's fixed or replaced. It's got to be a hardware issue as otherwise I'd expect to be seeing many more cases of GPS issues online! Pretty annoying on such an expensive smartwatch though.

it's samsung health that can't lock the gps when you are starting a gps related activity, the gps it's working on google maps, altimeter and the auto detect activity can get the area you are in, but when you start a walk or a run, it can't get the gps lock.

I'm considering returning the device for a refund

Nah mine was across all apps. I sent it off for repair and a new motherboard solved it and it's been working fine since!

I have the exact same problem with GW4.  I've tried every possible setting, uninstalled and reinstalled SH, and reset watch.  No problem with Google map location and using app standalone on phone provides map.  Have you been able to resolve the problem?  Thanks
