Galaxy Watch 5 not displaying text messages

I have a brand new Galaxy Watch 5 that is paired with a Samsung Note 20 ultra. When a text is received the only notification on the watch is an orange dot. Is there a way to make the text pop up on the watch face when received? I haven't been able to figure it out after trying for hours.

It should pop up and vibrate your watch when you get a text or notification. If it doesn't do that, you can try turning on the two circled settings especially the top one if they aren't on already.

Just making sure, do you have your watch connected to your phone via Bluetooth and the watch on sound or vibrate? Not mute. Also do you have all app notifications turned on in the settings?

Yes I have the watch on vibrate and all app notifications turned on. It should be working.

Ok. There is probably something we are missing but I would recommend contacting samsung support. I don't know of much else that would fix it.

First thing I would do is uninstall and then reinstall the Wear app. 

If that doesn't help, watches are easy to Factory Reset.  back it up and Factory reset it.

Mine worked by turning on sound or vibrate (from home swipe down, and make sure your speaker icon is on either on sound or vibrate)
