The weirdest thing has happened a couple times and now I'm concerned. For no apparent reason, my watch keeps doin a forced reset. I then have to go through the whole process of setting it up again. This time around it completely changed the way my watch is set up. Face, settings and icon order. Can anyone help me understand why this is happening? This thing cost too much and is only 4 months old. š”

Galaxy WatchHello, everybody.
At risk of jinxing myself, I wanted to post that I've not had the "Random/Unprovoked Disconnect" of my watch ultra & S23 Ultra since mid-day on February 12th. Nor have I had to Factory Reset & re-set up the watch to get it to reconnect to my phone since February 12th.
Between ~Jan. 21st through Feb. 12th, my watch would lose connection to my phone & require a factory reset to reconnect. This occurred as frequently as twice in one day, or as long as 1 week between disconnects.
There has been no software update to my phone that I'm aware of... Beyond, of course, the usual App updates via Google Play & Samsung Apps. There was a system update applied to my phone on Feb. 18th though.
I did nothing new or unique before, during, or after my last random disconnect & resulting Factory Reset on February 12th. So I don't know what the tentative solution may have been.
Summary: While I feel it's way too soon to consider this issue "Resolved", I have some solace in going this long w/o this issue manifesting.
I'd ask that this thread remain OPEN until several others confirm they, too, haven't experienced this issue for at least a month.
I encourage anybody still experiencing this (or no longer experiencing in over 10-14 days) to please chime in accordingly.
Thank you!

Galaxy WatchSorry to hear that! I was hoping there was an unannounced, secret, magical fix rolled out in the last 2 weeks! My S23Ultra was last updated on Feb. 18th, 2025. And the last unexpected disconnection was Wed., Feb. 12th, 2025.
I do agree, most of my unexpected disconnects occur while placing my watch on a charger, during charging, or immediately upon removing from charging. But I also have experienced unprovoked disconnects while it was not on a charger.
I wonder if perhaps powering the watch OFF during charging may help mitigate the disconnects, at least temporarily? Hard to say when we've already gone through 10-20+ charging cycles since our last disconnects w/o issue... Only for the issue to then resurface ~2 weeks since the last disconnect.
Here's to Samsung taking ownership of the software issue & getting it fixed quickly & reliably...
In the meantime, if I see any more useless suggestions to "keep watch battery above 50%", "Keep devices near each other to avoid weak Bluetooth", "remove/Re-add Bluetooth", "restart", "remove/reinstall Wear", etc. it'll be too soon. We all know none of those are solutions to this issue.
I'll keep you posted!

Galaxy WatchThankful to know that I'm not the only one experiencing this issue since sometime in January with Fold 5 and GWU. Has happened 5 times and always when on charger. Takes an hour each time reset and install is needed.

Galaxy WatchJust had this happen for the 2nd time since January on my Ultra. Great...love having to reset everything over and over. I noticed basically what happens is my S23 Ultra is no longer paired and then pairing forces a total reset. I'd like to hear from Samsung...although I'm not overly hopeful given their version of support given to me for the issues I've had in the past for my monitor and old refrigerator.

Galaxy WatchExactly like previous times, no reconnection attempt works and I now have to factory reset my watch AGAIN!!! Another hour+ wasted reconfiguring the backup & all settings & apps. I'm so **bleep**.
I was charging the watch, walked to the other side of my house with my phone, got a disconnect message, and now it will not reconnect.
I'm so over this nonsense, Samsung!! If any of your development/engineer folks monitor these posts, get your act together & fix this!!! Or at least roll back to the previous Watch Ultra software version until you become competent!!!!!
Enough is enough, get it fixed!

Galaxy WatchSo I've been hyper-focused on my watch & phone statuses, especially when the watch is charging in hopes of narrowing down this disconnection issue.
I was hoping to verify if the bug gets triggered @ a specific battery level and/or coming out of "Power Saver" mode. So I intentionally let my watch battery run down to ~12% before placing it on the charger.
This is the first time my watch has dropped below 20% & gone into automatic "Power Saver" mode, ironically since the last unexpected disconnect a week ago.
*****Sure enough, my Watch Ultra just disconnected AGAIN while on the charger just as it was crossing 20%-21% battery level & coming out of "Power Saver" mode.*****
My point is that the underlying bug may have to do w/ coming out of "Power Saving" mode when on the charger. And the phone being within range or not @ that very moment may also be a factor.
This would also explain why only SOME charge cycles result in a disconnect while others do not. Or why only some disconnects occur so closely in duration together, by nature of the watch crossing in & out of "Power Saver" mode during both disconnection events within the "same day" as an example.
If somebody is willing to try the following, it'd be very much appreciated.
1) Allow the watch to drop to ~15% or lower, then charge it w/ the phone *NEARBY*.
2) Monitor the watch & phone for the disconnect prompt as the battery charge increases, focusing on the ~19%-21% level where it comes out of the automatic "Power Saver" mode.
3) Make note of if a disconnect prompt occurs and at what battery level the disconnect prompt occurs.
Assuming no "Disconnect" event occurs, please retry the same steps above but w/ the phone *NOT* within range of the watch @ the moment it comes out of "Power Saver" mode.
I have a hunch the watch mishandles something when coming out of Power Saver mode(s), resulting in the disconnect & the required Factory Reset. I'm not 100% sure if it's easier to recreate w/ the phone within range or out of range of the watch.
I'm re-testing these scenarios as well, but collaboration & ability to recreate would be very much appreciated!
Thank you!
