Galaxy WatchHi everybody
I wonder what are the differences between Do not Disturb, goodnight, and theater modes on the Galaxy Watch.
I think maybe do not disturb mode is not working as intended.
from the manual:
"You can set the Watch not to vibrate and turn off the screen when a notification is received"
It doesn't say that the screen will remain off and the wake up gesture will be disabled as in the theater or goodnight modes.
When I enter do not disturb mode the screen goes off and the wake up gesture is disabled. I think only notifications, calls and alarms should be silenced but you could still be able to wake up the watch using the wrist gesture.
What do you think about this? its a bug? if its not a bug whats the difference with theater mode? goodnight mode only silences the sounds and vibration "while you sleep".
Cheers,
digitalevil

Galaxy WatchTheater mode - You can use Theater mode to silence your Watch
during a movie. This will keep the screen off and the
Watch silent.
Goodnight mode - Goodnight mutes all alerts, except for alarms and
system sounds. This keeps the screen off and the
Watch silent.

Galaxy WatchSo if I wanted to set a mode so that when I go to bed there are no sounds or the screen will not light up, I should use
Theater Mode. I went so far as to call Samsung Support yesterday and the tech told me that they are all the same and it doesn't matter which I use. Am I right then Theater Mode is the way to go? (No screen and No sounds)

Galaxy WatchHi all,
I don't want to seem pedantic but no-one has answered the difference between any if these modes. They seem to ALL silence the watch, they ALL stop notifications, and they ALL keep the screen off.
Nor does the link above to the Samsung website on those modes explain the difference. It says the same thing about each mode, just in a slightly different way.
So what does Do Not Disturb do that Goodnight mode and Theatre mode don't do?
What does Goodnight mode do that Do Not Disturb and Theatre mode don't do?
What does Theatre mode do that Goodnight mode and Do Not Disturb don't do?
Cheers.

Galaxy WatchI remember several years back when google took out theatre mode and I was in shock. I'm trying to remember why I didn't just use/ like the dnd.
I think it was because theater mode turned off the screen but allowed the vibrations to come through? There was a difference I know.
Now they are certainly the same especially referring to the "differences" explanations that have been given above.

Galaxy WatchTheater mode is to keep your watch from bothering other people. It silences your watch and keeps notifications from turning on the screen. It WILL vibrate for notifications, so theater mode is not suitable for sleeping, the way do not disturb mode is.
Do not disturb mode queues your notifications, but they will not vibrate your watch, in addition to not turning on the screen or making sounds.
Goodnight mode does all of the above AND will not turn the screen on with hand gestures.
I'm surprised nobody in this thread figured this out. It seems very straightforward.

Galaxy Watch@userhWhH9omiml I have just tried all 3 modes and from what I can see, Theatre mode acts in exactly the same way as DND, i.e. it doesn't vibrate for alerts, which is a shame. I guess this could be a bug in the existing version.
@MrZell I don't understand why you can schedule for DND but not for Goodnight mode, surely it would be more appropriate for Goodnight mode (aka sleeping)?
@MrZell It would be useful if the modes were more accessible so you can set them from an widget icon.
