Sooo as you guys know. I've been buying these watches for some time. Even if they don't work on my tattood skin. I'm very happy to report after getting my GW6 that they finally some what fixed the problem.

You can go to privacy settings and turn OFF wrist detection. AOD works notifications work. Only problem is. Notifications will still go off while it's charging. Lol no big deal really.

Just wanted to give some insight for those on the fence about buying this watch.

1st, wrist detection is to WAKE the watch.  Turning it off, simply stops the watch from turning on every time you move your wrist.

I turned mine off immediately as it conserves power.  Pushing the back button or the cancel button or turning the bezel also works to turn on the screen.

Not familiar with the tattoo issue.

I like the watch, yet, we're all just the newest bunch of Guinea pigs!

Sorry but you're wrong. If you have wrist detection on and you have a tattoo where the watch sits. It will not work properly. You need to have it off for the watch to work.

Keep in mind it will not receive phone call notifications. Sadly. I posted about this here in the community and on reddit.

Hopefully my post here in the samsung community will get more traction and get escalated.

I was very happy with this solution to the problem of not receiving notifications because of my tattooed skin, but the problem now is that the watch will stay always unlocked since it doesn't sense when it's not in your wrist...so all your info is exposed if watch lost or stolen...can samsung just bring back the option of receiving notifications while not wearing the watch?? Can't be that hard
