I own a Watch Active and have for the last year and a half. The watch is supposed to be able to track your swimming and is waterproof. I took it swimming in a 3 ft pool and it stopped working. I should have known that the claims of water resistance were a lie after my experience with a Galaxy S7 that wss dropped on snow for 5 seconds and the USB port no longer works to charge it.

water-"resistant" only keeps the device safe for a quick dip in a 'clean' water because that's what the test criteria is. They don't test in natural mineral rich or chemical rich water such as lakes, rivers, sea, pool, etc. It's more like... safe in the rain or shower.

try to dry it off thoroughly and hope that it works, wrap it in newspaper or something that sucks up moisture... like silica gel

I don't have that problem with either my active 2 or watch 4. I swim every day for the last 2 years and always wear the watch and it traks my swimming just fine. I've swum in pools and iceans with no harm to the watches.
