Group chat notifications not showing on Galaxy Fit 3

I recently switched from an Amazfit to the Galaxy Fit 3, paired with my S23. I love the icons and the ease of the Wearable app, but I’ve run into a frustrating issue — the watch won’t show notifications for group chats in Google Messages.

Here’s what I’ve tried:

  • Checked all notification settings (single texts work fine, group chats don’t).

  • Paired the watch with my spouse’s S23 — group texts worked perfectly.

  • Re-paired with my phone — group texts worked for a day, then stopped.

  • Switched to Samsung Messages, and group chats worked, but I prefer Google Messages.

I ordered a replacement watch through Amazon, same issue.

Samsung Support suggested sending the watch in for repairs, but I now have two Fit 3 watches with the same issue, so I’m skeptical. Google One support directed me to post in the community for help, no response there as of yet.

Has anyone else run into this? Any fixes? I’d appreciate any advice!

Bumping this for visibility!

I also have this issue with my Fit3. I've had mine since March of last year and the problem has started recently, so I suspect a recent update is to blame. Hoping for some help from Samsung with this!

Just got the Galaxy Fit 3 and this is the biggest issue I have with it right now. I thought it was the whole Google messaging app that wouldn't show up on my watch, but I get individual to message notifications, so just group texts. Hopefully an update will fix this

Update: I messaged Samsung chat support again and this time I was directed to a different method of escalation directly to the app developers in the Samsung Members app. I've already gotten a response through the app that the developers are looking into the issue. Maybe if other people report, it could bump it up to a higher priority. The steps to send an error report are as follows:

1. On your phone, navigate to the Samsung Members app. If you don't already have it, download it and sign in with your Samsung account.

2. Long press on the Samsung Members icon on apps screen and tap Error reports.

3. Tap OK on agreement that pops up for sending system log data

4. Select symptom category. I selected Call/Message.

5. Describe problem in detail, attach screenshots if needed, and make sure "Send system log data" is checked at the bottom, then click send icon in the top right corner.

Sorry to hear that. I did get a response from the Samsung app, however, it wasn't helpful. They asked for me to send them a video of the issue. By the time they responded, I had returned it and bought a different watch. It may be a little cumbersome, but you could take a video of your phone and watch side by side and have someone text you in a group chat to show that the phone receives the message while the watch does not.

Same issue that just started week of April 6. Very frustrating. My response time to work messages are delayed at times significantly and I'm missing some family messaging because of. I bought the watch to keep from having to carry my phone out in the open so much.

Small update here, I finally recieved a response through my bug report in the Samsung Members app. I was told:

"Group message (MMS or RCS) is not forwarded to fit3. It is normal behavior of fit3plugin."

We all know this not to be true, as it certainly worked before and even works intermittently sometimes when reset a bunch.

After questioning their response I was told to call the technical support team at 1-800-726-7864, which I have not had the time to do nor do I really want to.

My Fit3 did recieve an update on April 16th but unfortunately it did not solve the issue.
