I got a new Active 2 for Christmas. My old watch was a Gear S3. The new Active does not track my heart rate every 10 minutes ever. The most frequently is an hour. Sometimes longer. I thought maybe there was an update to the program that was messed up. Put my old gear 3 on and updated it and it still works just fine, heart rate every 10 minutes. What is with the Active 2?! Samsung, what gives? You also no longer can track oxygen. Stupid. Might have to switch to Apple if you guys can't fix it.
hi. I have a 46 mm Galaxy Watch and I have the same problem, this starts after the last version update:
Version number: R800XXU1DSL1
Tizen Version: Tizen 126.96.36.199
Release date: 2019-12-26
I hope Samsumg will fix this quickly.
Same here in my Active 2. When I set it to track continuous it does its job. The 10 min setting makes it scan only once per hour. Maybe Samsung is scanning every 10 minutes and then averaging to 1 reading per hour. Interestingly I saw one recorded reading at 10:05 AM and noticed green blinking LEDs at 10:25 AM. Whatever it is, something is happening in the background.
Just noticed this the other day. Don't usually follow the heart rate stats. Going back I see it switched to hour checks on January 31st. The few days preceding it was doing both. Sometimes 10 min sometimes an hour.
Since then its hourly.
I've only been able to update all the various pieces of software on the watch. For the last year or so it had the disconnect problem when updating. So I'm not surprised something else is not working.
Even with Bixby its still the best watch to have. Please Samsung, care a bit more.
My Active 2 does the same thing since I bought it a few weeks ago. I've talked to support twice, who told me to reset the watch to factory settings (didn't work), and then gave me a link to a page with other tips like rebooting the watch (didn't work), checking for updates (didn't work), and turning off the automatic workout detection for elliptical and rowing maching or something silly like that (didn't work.) Then they told me I would have to send it in for repair. Seriously? The watch is brand new. And what exactly would they repair? This seems like a software issue to me. Frustrating, and even more so that support seemed to have no idea that this is an issue for anyone.
Its june 2020... I have had the watch for 1 day and i have the same issue... does anybody know when this will be fixed?
However, it might be an issue with samsung health that only saves the average every one hour. If you have a look at the sleeping plot, it seems that it has more datapoints. not sure...
