I am not receiving texts or caller ID on my new Galaxy Watch5, 40mm, Bluetooth.

I am receiving Outlook emails just fine.

On both the watch and the Galaxy Wear app I have no No texts or caller ID on My new Galaxy Watch5, 40mm, Bluetooth  tifications turned on for both texts and phone.

For both watch and app, I have permissions turned on for nearly everything including access to texts and phone.

I must have a setting wrong somewhere. Can anybody help me solve this?

Thank you,

Ray

I apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing with your Galaxy Watch5. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue of not receiving texts or caller ID on your watch:

  1. Check Bluetooth Connection: Ensure that your Galaxy Watch5 is properly connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth. Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your smartphone and check the Bluetooth connection status. If it's not connected, try disconnecting and reconnecting the devices.

  2. Sync Settings: In the Galaxy Wearable app, go to the "Notifications" settings and make sure that the options for text messages and phone calls are enabled. Also, check the notification settings on your smartphone to ensure that notifications are allowed to be displayed on your watch.

  3. Reset Notifications: On your Galaxy Watch5, open the Settings menu and navigate to the "Notifications" section. From there, you can try resetting the notifications by selecting "Reset settings" or a similar option. This can help resolve any misconfigured settings causing the issue.

  4. Reboot Devices: Sometimes, a simple reboot can resolve connectivity issues. Restart both your Galaxy Watch5 and your smartphone. After the devices have restarted, check if you're receiving texts and caller ID on your watch.

  5. Check App Permissions: Verify that the necessary permissions are granted to the Galaxy Wearable app on your smartphone. Go to your smartphone's settings, find the "Apps" or "Applications" section, locate the Galaxy Wearable app, and ensure that it has permissions to access texts and phone calls.

  6. Update Software: Check for any available software updates for your Galaxy Watch5 and your smartphone. Keeping both devices up to date with the latest software versions can often resolve compatibility issues and improve functionality.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it may be helpful to contact Samsung support or visit an authorized service center for further assistance. They can provide more specific troubleshooting steps or determine if there is a hardware issue with your Galaxy Watch5.

I hope these suggestions help you resolve the problem with receiving texts and caller ID on your Galaxy Watch5.

No texts or or phone functionality on my new Galaxy Watch5 40mm, Silver, Bluetooth.

I previously posted the question below and got the reply below. Then I was unable to reply, so I'm starting over.

I am wondering if this is my problem: I still have the Google Wear OS app on my phone because I still have a Tic Watch Pro. But, the wear OS app is NOT connected to my Samsung watch.

In spite of that, it looks like Google Wear OS apps are appearing on my Samsung watch, maybe. I don't see a Google Wear OS app icon in my Samsung watch app icons scream, but when I go to permissions, I have 2 phone permissions icons,  2 message permissions icons, and there is a Google Wear OS permissions icon.

Is my problem due to having both The Google Wear OS app and the Galaxy Wearable Wear app on my phone simultaneously, even though the wear OS app is not connected to my Samsung watch via Bluetooth?

If so, would I be better off uninstalling the Galaxy Wear app and letting the Google Wear OS app control both of my watches?

Thank you to anyone who can help. Have a great day.

Ray

@Ray J Johnson Jr  "...it looks like Google Wear OS apps are appearing on my Samsung watch..."

This is because the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 runs on Wear OS.

"Is my problem due to having both The Google Wear OS app and the Galaxy Wearable Wear app on my phone simultaneously..."

As a troubleshooting step, you could remove the Google Wear OS app from your phone.

"If so, would I be better off uninstalling the Galaxy Wear app and letting the Google Wear OS app control both of my watches?"

I would be surprised if the Wear OS app can control the GW5.
