Just got the watch 5 and for some reason, I'm unable to pause the step counter at all on the watch. I can pause steps on my phone, but only if I un-sync the watch from my phone.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

@sswrkx Curious, why do you want to pause the step counter?

The watch counts any arm movement like washing hands, waving, hand gestures when talking to to someone, washing my face, scratching my head etc. Lol none of these are walking functions

Thank you for reaching out. I can certainly understand your frustration with the steps counting when doing activities that are not walking. One option would be to turn off the automatic workout detection on your Galaxy watch, please know this will also cause your steps not to be counted automatically. Give this link a try for more information on automatic workout detection: https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00083510/

That didn't work. I just scratched my head and it counted 10 steps
