Galaxy WatchSince this problem exists in 3 vehicles, I doubt it's a vehicle setting.
Of note, I have the S24 connected to my Watch6.
Any messages, emails, reminders , . . . any notification (sans phone call) is muted when I am in a vehicle with the phone connected. No audible notification from my phone, watch (I have audible notifications disabled and get no vibrations), or the vehicle. I do get popups on my watch. Is there a setting on my phone to ALWAYS give audible notifications on my phone?

Galaxy Watch@RequiredUsername In phone settings -> Modes and routines, do you have the Driving mode enabled?
Also is your device a carrier device? Does it perhaps have a safe driving (distraction free) app/mode which is enabled?

Galaxy WatchNope. No offending modes/routines.
I've changed device carriers in the last 6 months. Unless both have a semi-hidden app/setting, nothing there. I agree the culprit is likely the phone, I just can't find the setting.

Galaxy WatchTry going to settings, connections, Bluetooth, advanced settings and turn on ringtone sync. Also, when connected, make sure the BT volume slider on your volume panel is turned up.

Galaxy WatchIt's the way the car's BT takes over. Did you check the BT volume slider in your volume panel? This slider is only visible when something is connected to BT. I'm pretty sure I saw a setting somewhere to allow the sounds and ringtones to come out of the phone's speaker when BT is connected, and I've been trying to find it. I know I'm not imagining it, as I am sure I have (or have had) it turned on.

Galaxy WatchOK. Try this: If you don't already have Good Lock, download it from the Galaxy store. Then download the Sound Assistant Module. Open Sound Assistant and tap on advanced settings. Once in advanced settings, tap on alerts through headphones, then turn all the sliders off. This should direct all sounds out of the phone's speaker and not the connected BT device. Note, it says "headphones", but I don't see why it wouldn't work with any connected BT device. If you turn the sliders on, it may or may not direct the sound to the car's speakers. I don't remember, it's been a long time since I've actually been in my own car and got a call or notification (I have the sliders on). I'm usually a passenger in someone else's car, and if I'm in a place not my home and wearing ear gear, I want the sounds to come into my ears, not out of the phone.

Galaxy WatchI've learned a little. I have unpaired every device on my S24 and added them one at a time.
Starting with the Toyota, my phone shows "disconnected," the car shows "Connected, and Android Auto shows "connected."
I'm going to skip my headset. It's only connected in my study during phone calls. Nonetheless, I unpaired it.
Watch6. with it unpaired and off, I get no audible alarm from my phone. Change to "Vibrate." Nothing. Don't know about popups. Obviously, nothing on my watch. with my watch on and paired the phone, I get nothing on my phone, but I get vibration and popup for most notifications on my watch. Nothing from my Reminder app.
The silencing of my phone happens instantly and only when connected to the Toyota

Galaxy WatchIn the Wear app, do you have "mute notifications on phone" active? If you do, the phone won't show or announce notifications while connected to the watch, even if connected to another BT device. All notifications will go to the watch. If you have an LTE watch, you can see what happens if you connect the car to the watch instead of the phone. I paired my watch to my car in case I chose to leave my phone at home while running an errand.
