I sent the following to Samsung Support using the feedback tool. OS update version references below.

Anyone else here in this forum experiencing the issue? It happened immediately after the OS update, but hopefully, can be fixed at the app level with Samsung Health!๐Ÿ™

----
After the latest Watch Ultra OS update, the Samsung Health workout tracking screen is noticeably dimmer than all other screens. This only happens during an active exercise. Home screen, tiles, toggles, and all other Samsung Health pages display at normal brightness.

Autoโ€‘brightness ON/OFF, manual brightness, AOD, and power saving do not affect the issue. Brightness returns to normal immediately after exiting the workout screen.

This is being reported across Samsung Members, Reddit, and XDA and began immediately after the OS update, not after any Samsung Health update. The issue appears isolated to the workout display mode and is likely a Samsung Health rendering bug, not hardware.

Please escalate to the Samsung Health team for an appโ€‘level fix.

The dimmer workout screen is even more profound in the sunlight. The screen will brighten with Adaptive brightness on, but can still hardly see it.

I have the same issue -- VERY annoying as it makes these views almost useless while running or biking.  This needs a resolution ASAP.

Exactly! Hoping this is a Samsung Health app misalignment with the updated OS patch, otherwise we will be waiting a long time.
I got the standard response about the issue being sent to the developer team. That was via the feedback tool with Samsung Members.

I am sure this has to be widespread across watch Ultra customers.

Updated report sent via the feedback tool. If you are having the same issue, I encourage you to report it as well.

Same for me using watch 5 with A56. Very hard to see when in motion. Please fix ASAP.

I was glad to see Samsung respond to this issue: however, a month later a fix has not been applied to the Samsung Health activity screen rendering issue.
Hopefully, soon.

As noted by many in this community and on Reddit, the battery life has taken a hit with the last Watch Ultra Wear OS update. For clarity, the OS version is attached as a screen shot to this comment. Prior to the update, my watch Ultra used to last 2-3 days even with exercise activity requiring GPS. Post update, even without GPS usage the watch will drain in one day.

This is noted by several across communities.

Perhaps, each issue will be addressed in the next OS update. My concern is that Wear OS updates are typically spaced months apart, unlike the phone which receives monthly patches and bug fixes.

Given the issues, maybe we will see a quicker update from Samsung.
The activity screen rendering alone, leaves the watch unusable for outside activities. 1776437029723.jpg1776437029739.jpg92hST0RsN2.jpgGjN29NXL4e.jpg

I have a Galaxy Watch 4, and after the latest update Iโ€™m experiencing the same issue. I canโ€™t properly work out outdoorsโ€”the display isnโ€™t visible at all. Itโ€™s a bit frustrating.

The Ultra should be more visible outdoors since it has a higher peak nit rating than the Watch 4, but the Samsung Health activity screen stays extremely dim even at max brightness. Every other screen behaves normally, so itโ€™s clearly a rendering issue limited to that view.

My next step is probably a full reset, even though itโ€™s a hassle. Samsung backs up some settings and apps, but not everything โ€” folders, layouts, and certain apps still have to be reinstalled and re-authenticated. A few people in the Galaxy Watch Facebook group said a reset fixed it for them.

Before going that far, you can try clearing the cache partition (plenty of YouTube walkthroughs). It didnโ€™t fix the issue for me, which is why Iโ€™m leaning toward a reset. Watch updates take months, and thereโ€™s no guarantee the next one will resolve it.

**UPDATE AND SOLUTION**

## **Galaxy Watch Ultra โ€“ US LTE (L705U)

One UI Watch 8.0 โ€ข Software L705USQU3BZB5

Samsung Health 6.31.1001 (March 18, 2026)**

After running a full reset and then testing the latest Samsung Health update, I can confirm the dimโ€‘screen issue on the activity screen is tied to the **combination** of the new OS build and the **Samsung Health 6.31.1001** update.

### **Before Reset โ€“ #fail**

- Activity screen in Samsung Health consistently dim after the OS update.

- First activity would appear normal for a moment, then dim.

- No lasting fix through settings, reboots, or cache clears.

### **After Reset โ€“ #win**

- Watch became noticeably faster and more responsive.

- Battery behavior improved (still stabilizing).

- Modes sync instantly between watch and phone.

- Samsung Health activity screen returned to normal brightness.

- First activity after reset dimmed once, second and onward were normal.

### **Samsung Health 6.31.1001 โ€“ Regression**

- Overnight autoโ€‘updates installed Samsung Health 6.31.1001.

- Next morning, the activity screen was dim again with no selfโ€‘correction.

- Uninstalling the Samsung Health update immediately restored normal brightness.

- Reproduced this twice:

- **Install update โ†’ dim screen**

- **Uninstall update โ†’ normal brightness**

### **Current State โ€“ #win**

- Disabled โ€œAutoโ€‘install while chargingโ€ in the Play Store on the watch.

- Running the rolledโ€‘back Samsung Health version (preโ€‘update).

- Activity screen brightness is stable and correct.

- I will skip Samsung Health 6.31.1001 until Samsung issues a fix.

### **Conclusion**

This is a **replicable interaction bug** between:

1. **One UI Watch 8.0 (L705USQU3BZB5)**

2. **Samsung Health 6.31.1001 (March 18, * (Your date may vary as Samsung staggers the release of software updates).

The only reliable workflow:

**Reset watch โ†’ allow Samsung Health to roll back โ†’ block autoโ€‘updates.**

Hope this helps others avoid the same loop. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Quick update on the Samsung Health dimโ€‘screen bug:

I tested all three recent versions of Samsung Health on the Watch Ultra, and hereโ€™s the outcome.

6.30.7.007 (Nov โ€™25) still had the dimming issue before a reset but worked fine after a full reset.

6.31.1001 (Mar โ€™26) had the bug even after a reset โ€” this was the problem build.

Updating to the new 6.32.0.001 (Apr 14 โ€™26) finally fixed the issue completely.

For most people already on 6.31.1001, updating straight to 6.32.0.001 should resolve it; a full reset is only needed if the bug sticks around after updating.
