Samsung Wallet Broken Galaxy Watch 6 Classic

I just got my Samsung Wallet all setup on my new Galaxy Watch 6 classic with all my cards. The problem is if any workout is in progress, holding the back button just doesn't do anything and is dead.

No I am not on the workout screen. Doesn't matter if the workout is paused, holding the back key doesn't launch the wallet on any screen I am on (not the workout screen obviously, the button works fine there)

For example if I walk to the store, then pause my workout holding the back button does nothing at all no matter what. If I finish the workout, then everything returns to normal and I can use Samsung Wallet by holding the back button no problem pops right up and works at the terminal.

Very annoying and I never had this problem on my Galaxy Watch 5.

Can anyone else confirm this behavior?

Have you attempted any troubleshooting steps so far? Activate water lock mode, then disable. Nothing still?

I have tried troubleshooting but if I have missed something I'm open to trying more things to resolve the issue.

I have tried:

- Toggling NFC settings on and off in connections

- Confirmed Samsung Wallet is the default payment method

- All apps are up to date

- Tried to reproduce the issue when a workout is not currently active but holding the back key down works and launches Samsung Wallet immediately as expected (not talking about the workout screen which triggers a pause of course, which is expected)

I should clarify the button itself is responsive for example back still works perfect when a workout is active. The issue is just if there is any kind of activate workout, then holding the back button down fails to launch Samsung Pay.

I attempted to go into it in my apps and if I open it there, a screen just pops up and tells me to hold the back button to launch my wallet. When I do that and there is a workout going on (paused or not paused, doesn't matter) then holding the button does absolutely nothing and I have no way to access my wallet unless I end the workout.

What was the behavior on your Galaxy Watch 5?

You hold the back button and your wallet pops up regardless if I am in a workout or not. Again not talking about the workout screen.

As long as you are not on the workout screen then holding back button always opens wallet. So on my Watch 5, I would pause my workout, then go to home screen then hold back and wallet pops right up, I finish my transaction and resume workout no issues.

Used it that way the entire time I had it without any problems. There is no way to access wallet that I'm aware of without holding the back button which btw Samsung forces that behavior and it doesn't work.

This seems to be the behavior of the new software. I have the Watch 5 on the beta software for Watch One UI 5. When I activate a workout and go to the home screen, I am unable to activate Samsung Pay unless I completely exit the workout.

So it's not just me then, thanks for confirming. I hope Samsung addresses it ASAP, for how much they want you to use the Wallet app by forcing that behavior and not allowing users to change it, it should absolutely work.

You're 100% correct. There should at least be an option. In the meanwhile, you can submit this as an error report through the Samsung Members app in the Support tab at the bottom. Find send feedback. Hopefully this can be addressed in a software update soon.
