My Watch is barely 6 months old and the sensor cover on the back simply fell off. All my attempts to get help through support channels have failed. How do I get warranty repair for this design defect?

Yes - They provided a prepaid shipping label so I could send the watch for repair. It was returned within a few days with the back re-attached. Great service, though a very odd channel for warranty repair.
