Since last update the Galaxy wearables app stopped working and no longer receives notifications

Ever since this last update, my wearable app has stopped working and I get no notifications on my watch! It's super annoying. Any tips?

Clear the cache in the wear app.

So, clearing wearables app cache fixed your problem between samsung messages and galaxy watch 7, and you receive sound alerts with new messages now after the update?

I never had that problem, because I use Google Messages on both my devices.

I just tried switching to google messages, and it works! I'm guessing it is an intentional or unintentional break in the samsung messages app code, which doesn't let new messages audible notification to work on the watch.

I found how to fix it
Go to the Google Play Store and search for the messages app and I uninstalled and then updated again and that fixed the problem because the same thing happened to me, I used to send messages and they would arrive but when they sent me messages I wouldn't receive them anymore.
