Sleep latency: why penalized for routinely falling asleep quickly?

I don't understand why they penalize you for being able to fall asleep quickly, as if it's a problem that needs to be addressed.  When I was young, I had difficulty falling asleep due to my mind racing.  So I started the practice of meditation when I go to sleep, and ever since I've been able to fall asleep quickly (for over 40 years now).  My watch tells me I am regularly falling asleep in about 3 minutes, give or take 1 minute.  SInce it's below their 5 minute goal, my overall sleep score is now penalized every night for falling asleep in less than 5 minutes, insisting it's because "you must be exhausted!"  No, I'm quite fine, I just fall asleep quickly - quit penalizing me!  This metric should first establish a baseline for people over a period of weeks or a month and THEN arrive at a range appropriate for the individual.  I used to regularly get good sleep scores, now I get "needs attention" to "fair" ever since they introduced this metric.

@Members_F5lJlSs I also typically fall asleep quickly and get the little red bar by sleep latency.

I'm sure that all the ratings of sleep are based on information from instrumented sleep studies, not just guessed at. Individuals may have variations from the statistical information and still have good sleep.

Have to agree. I worked shift work for well over half my military career and I can sleep at the drop of a hat, you learn to sleep when you can. The health app should pick up on that.

I question the sleep score readings myself. Before the updated, i got excellent scores now im lucky to get good one. Now it's mostly fair. I also don't get how it give you fair reading on rem and deep sleep, but when I check the info it says the percentage rage (which i fall in is regular and or normal) so then why is the reading only set to fair. Shouldn't it be good or excellent?

On the other hand, I get an excellent score for taking so long to get to sleep. Last night it took 35m, which is unusual for me; it usually takes upwards of an hour. The rest of my sleep was in the dumpster according to this.

As far as I know, I slept okay other than latency (about 7 hrs), yet it says ATTENTION.

BTW, can you share your meditation routine? I need that!

Anybody, does Samsung monitor these post?
