Wake up gesture not working, screen turns off after 1/2 second

My screen does not turn off after 5 seconds, but after HALF A SECOND.

Recently, the wake up gesture has not be working properly. 50% of the time, the screen will turn on for half a second and turn off directly after. This is very frustrating. I expect the screen to stay on for at least a few seconds. This is not normal.

My GW5 is doing the same thing after the most recent update. I posted about it too and seems a few other are having the same issue as well. I submitted a bug report about it but really hasn't gotten anywhere. The only "solution" I can do is turn AOD on and just have it on all the time. I don't like having it on due to wanting longer battery life but until Samsung fixes this issue, that's the only thing that's been able to work for me

Same for me, the only ""acceptable"" short-term solution I found was to turn on Always On Display. This is very frustrating, we would like to know when a fix is going to be released.

Yeah it's pretty annoying. I know they give us an ETA on a fix time frame, but at least say we acknowledge the issue and are working on it at least. I love my watch, this is the first issue I've had with it and it's pretty annoying

You need to go into settings and change the screen time for it to stay on longer

Nope, does not fix it. I tried that as well.

I already tried everything I could do myself:
- turning on/off do not disturb mode, theater mode, sleep mode, water mode, power saving mode,
- changing the screen timeout,
- restarting the watch,
- factory resetting the watch
And the issue remains.

This is nonsense, there is no setting for a "half second" wake time to begin with. This is a bug through and through

The error report was given a standard "oh sorry that happened call our support line" instead of acknowledging the issue.

Tons of videos online of people with this exact issue as well

That will accomplish nothing as this is a software issue caused by the latest update. Why would we have to sit on the line with customer service when there is this app with error report forms that should add this bug to the list of bugs but yet we get no response of acknowledgement from Samsung?

Apple wouldn't treat their customers like this
