Only if you continually accidently wake your device by raising your wrist. Even then it will be minimal.

I've enabled that function on all 5 versions of my Galaxy watches.  Personally I wouldn't wear a watch without that feature enabled. 

 

It didn't noticeably affect my Watch3 and certainly doesn't affect my Watch5Pro.
