I am not sure what is going on with my watch. Its an active 6 watch. Everytime i push for a workout it shows the last time I worked out and it wont let me start a new work out. Any ideas??

Did you properly end the previous workout?  Swipe right on the screen until you see the big red circle with the "X".  Tap that to end the previous workout and start another.  If you do not properly end a workout, it will stay in perpetual pause until you resume or end it.

Yes, it was showing me the entire workout from the day before and wouldn't let me start a new workout this morning.

You should also be able to end a workout from the health app on the phone.

Yeah, there was no workout running when I tried to start a new workout today. Like I said , it just kept showing the day before , workout and the stats but would not allow me to start a new workout.

Clear cache in the health app and reboot the watch.
