Cant pair iphone earbuds, I used to be able to do it

I had iphone earbuds pared to my zflip, somehow it got erase and no matter how I try, can't pair them

First Gen airpods were nice about it, however the later ones are selective. You have a z flip, with Bluetooth 4, I believe? Have you tried resetting your airpods? The Bluetooth standards might not be compatible, your phone might be too new, check for a compatability mode in BT. Thanks!
