Galaxy SmartTag2 - Do you need UWB for pet features?

I bought the Galaxy SmartTag2 and soon after realized my Galaxy Z Flip5 doesNOT have the UWB chip for some of the SmartTag2 features. 

Do you need UWB To use the pet tracking features?

And is there Any chance the ZF5 will get UWB chip next year?

The zfold appears to have UWB and Dex. However I am more surprised they gimped the Z Flip5 on this as this is something I was planning on getting myself.

I wasn't expecting it to skip out on such a small feature either! I'm kinda bummed because I was excited to use the full feature of the SmartTag2

Yeah I can understand Dex because of form factor and overheating but UWB missing at the same price as the Z Fold? Come on!

I agree at over a grand for my zflip I was going to order the 4 pk smart tag 2 for all my dogs but can't now
