We got our new Z Flip 5 Tuesday and went through the setup process yesterday, after moving the data over, the phone crashed 3 - 4 times while installing apps, when manually installing apps from google play most of the time would get an error with an unable to install app message, clicking it a second time would work. The phone restarted like 3 times again after that in random occasions, mostly when unlocking it. Last night while configuring google meet, it crashed but didn't reboot right away, after 2 - 3 min it rebooted and now can't go past the unlock screen without it crashing. Safe mode, removing sim card, wiped cache, same results. If you don't attempt to unlock the phone it won't crash but as soon as you do the pattern like 5 secs after it will crash and reboot. Can't even power it down, it crashes during the power down process and reboot. Any ideas? did I just receive a defective unit?
I hate to say it, but if the phone crashes while booting in Safe Mode (and during all the other times you mentioned) then you might just want to exchange your Flip 5 for a new one if possible. Are you able to factory reset at all?

"...you might just want to exchange your Flip 5 for a new one... " NOTE OF CAUTION- SAMSUNG sent me a refurbished WARRANTY Replacement phone. Turned out to be an international phone not a US phone therefore I couldn't even get Care Plus. After reading all Samsung fine print, turns out they listed it but they at their discretion can send you a refurbished phone! Another bad note about their warranty policy is that your original phone that quit working under warranty carries that date with the phone they send you, therefore my original warranty expired 10 days after I received the refurbished phone. About that time the 'new phone' factory screen protector creased to the point I can't see through it. I've had nothing but problems with this refurbished phone sent by Samsung on my warranty phone. Plus I'm still paying on the original flip phone. Very disappointed never had to use a warranty service with Samsung in 25+ years
Happening to me after factory resetting it 2x I decided to do a master reset that’s when you hold the power button and volume rocker at the same time then manually navigating to clear the phone it worked until I set up chrome again
