Why is my phone displaying its ip address as 192.0.0.2 but if I do an ip search when I'm on data it shows me to be o. My carriers ip which is correct and comes up on my network as a private ip but always displays that same ip on my about phone setting
IP is displayed for an active network connection so if you're not connected via Wi-Fi when you search, you only see the data connection. You have to check IP on the device or from connected router (or any other DHCP server) to know your ip. There are several ways to find IPs but not sure which method you're using.
@Flipper7 The IP address shown in About phone is your local IP address. This is the address your router uses to send traffic to your device. When you do an IP search, it susses out the global IP address your router is using to connect to the internet.
