VPN errors

Since upgrading to OneUI 5.1 my phone can't connect to a VPN. I usually use Proton, but since the update, I've also tried Nord & 1.1.1.1. None of them will connect. I've tried all the VPN related settings & can't make anything work. Is there some special trick to using a VPN while running 5.1?

OneUI 5.1 is absolute trash. They won't admit there is even a problem on any report I've submitted about Bluetooth not working correctly.
