I had to update my phone to Android pie, and my watch to tizen 4 but my contacts never came over to the watch like they did before. so if i get a call or text my watch has no idea who it is.
how do I resync my contacts to allow me to see who calls or text on my watch?
Just found a fix. Go into your contacts on your phone and edit any contacts that are not displaying their name on the watch. Simply press the spacebar after their name and save. The contact will be forced to rsync and the problem is solved.
Can you try these steps and let us know if you notice any change?
- First, power off the Watch.
- Force Stop and Clear Data on Watch software apps on phone
- Delete watch software from phone
- Power off phone
-Power back on watch and factory reset it
-Once watch reboots, power on phone and re-download software
-Reconnect everything back up and retest

From what I can tell sync options are available on my phone , messages , contacts. I never had any issue until I had to update the software on the phone and then the watch now they don't communicate to each other.
The only thing I see is my name if I want to add contacts manually which I have 350 contacts and I'm not going to Add them annually
If i go to the phone on the watch i can scroll through my calls and it lists names, but messages and contacts dont.
so the watch software and phone are not syncing my contacts correctly. no idea why no settings are in the software to sync the 2 together. Samsung sunk that boat it seems with buggy software updates
