Fitness band disconnecting from phone

My Galaxy fit band keeps disconnecting from my Samsung phone. I've tried rebooting both phone and band. I've re installed Galaxy wearable app and cleared cache on all apps.

It was working fine until a few weeks ago now it only stays connected for 30 mins max. I'm missing calls and texts and this is making the band worthless. My daughters cheap, unbranded,  fitness band is currently doing a far better and more reliable job. I'm days away from chucking it and getting a cheap version. The endless circle of doom on the watch stating that it is "connecting" is also draining the charge on the band and causing more unnecessary expense and wasted time. Any other ideas before I bin it (and never buy a Samsung watch again). Thanks
