So yesterday on my break from work I had gone to target to purchase a brand new pair of galaxy buds.
I set them up listened to music tried them in a phone conversation and everything was fine the quality was clear on the recieving end and the mic was great aswell, I had instantly fell in love with my new buds and their amazing low end especially for the music I listen to, Now the second day I used them to listen to music again during my enjoyment of music I took a call, and at the time I only had the left ear bud in, the person on the line was complaining about hearing this constant clicking-ruffling kind of sound and a little muffly Like something was wrong with the mic, it doesnt happen when I use the right ear bud alone, just the left I tried resetting the buds thinking that would help but the noise with the left bud would dissappear and then return randomly these Galaxy Buds haven't been roughed, dropped, or abused in anyway, the only thing I did was change the rubber fit on the Body. is this an update Issue or a hardware issue? I really like these I have no problem with music playback or anything just phone calls which is weird and It would break my heart to just return them.
Yes I did, I rebooted my buds, my phone but to no avail. im also currently on the phone with my girlfriend and im using the right bud as a standalone and having no problems with the audio on her end
UPDATE: after a while of being on the phone the right one also started to make noise aswell. this is so frustrating...
I have buds as well and bought them in the summer. There was a recent update and it seems good although I didn't test phone call quality after recent update.
You can exchange buds in case below steps won't help:
If you have one of the fresh Galaxy phones....
Go to settings>apps>tap 3 dots on top right>show system apps>find "phone" in the list(could be few of them), then go to storage and clear data. Do this on each of the phone items in the list
I'll give it a try but I'm still confused as to what that is going to do for the call quality, because I can hear the person im talking to just fine, but on their end theres an annoying clicking, ringing tone that just constantly making noise also making it hard to hear me. @Charkatak
so I had two phone apps, cleared the data on both, I have the left Bud in now going to wait and see because sometimes it doesnt always happen right away, then BOOM full force annoyance. but I wanna say since I did that its been 10-15 minutes since I been on the call and it hasn't made the annoying sound yet so now im switching to the right bud for a while and going to see if you finally sovled my problem fingers crossed
This should fix the mic issue for others on the line
