Gear Fit 2 does not complete boot process

Hi!

I've had my Gear Fit 2 for 2+ years, and have loved it.  However, this past weekend, after getting it charged, it had shutdown on the charger (I did have it in low power mode when I put it on the charger).  When I went to turn it on, the Gear Fit boot screen came, stayed up for about 80 seconds, and then the screen went blank.  I could force it to reboot mode (and can force it to go into the maintenance menu), but I cannot complete the boot process.  It does not connect to my phone anymore, either, so it's not a simple issue with a bad watch face or such.   Has anyone ever seen something like this?  It is, or at least was, running the latest OS update.  It has not been immersed, it has not been heated, it has not been frozen, etc.  The vibration still works on boot.

I'm hoping someone can tell me what's going on and can help me fix it.  It sounds like some kind of ROM issue, but how can that have changed while it was on the charger?

Thanks!

Re: Gear Fit 2 does not complete boot process

Hello userEadQ7HFYwZ,

I understand your frustration with this issue. You mentioned the watch was able to be forced in reboot mode so Possibly attempt a Factory data Reset following these steps:

https://www.samsung.com/ca/support/mobile-devices/gear-fit2-how-do-i-reset-my-samsung-gear-fit2/

If this is not possible, or doesn't work then attempt calling 1800 Samsung to see if you can send the watch to be repaired if it is an internal issue.

Hope This Helps!

No, I meant the reboot BIOS screen (get the device to go directly to reboot splash screen, then hit the power button three times in a row before it transitions to the standard splash screen, normally for factory use

).  Once the device hits the actual normal Gear Fit 2 Splash screen is where its failing.  Your solution, unfortunately, needs the device to complete the boot process, which is where this stops.
