Gear S2 Classic software update failure

I have a Gear S2 Classic paired with my Galaxy S21. The Galaxy Store on my phone shows multiple apps ready to update but the update process never completes. Whether I try installing as individual update or taking Update All, I get through download and transfer to watch but installing never finishes. I have updated software on the watch on this manner many times before. What am I missing here?

Thanks for the suggestion. My watch (according to the Wear app on my phone) has 1.8 GB of its 4 GB storage free and 318 MB of RAM free. My phone has ample headroom on both. I don't see this as the issue this time.

I finally gave up trying. I performed a factory reset from the Wear app and started fresh (not synchronizing my old profile). The same six apps appeared ready to update, but they are now completing the installation process on the watch. I rarely wear it anyway, but I hate it when things don't work.
